General notes of use at SMV:

• Lesser Feasts are never observed during Lent or on any Major Feast.  Lessons offered for Lesser Feasts are rarely used - the seasonal daily mass lessons are normally used instead with the Collect of the Day assigned for the Lesser Feast, the Preface for the Lesser Feast, and the liturgical color of the Lesser Feast.
   
• Eves of all Major Feasts are observed when the Eve does not occur on another Major Feast or on a Sunday.  At Mass on an Eve, the mass lection for the Feast are used.  If no specific lesson is offered at Evening Prayer on the Eve of Feast Day, we normally do not use one of the generic lessons (for example we do not use the lessons offered for Eve of an Apostle).
