Walk with the Saint Mary’s Team - Support the Saint Mary’s Team
Join the Saint Mary’s AIDS Walk team, now in its third year. In our first year, we raised almost $10,000; last year, we raised more than $17,000. In 2008, our goal is $20,000 and 30 walkers. We’d like to exceed our goal. Join us now, contribute to our team. Stand up in the fight against HIV / AIDS!
May 18 is Trinity Sunday, and a lot of walkers will want to be in church on Trinity Sunday. So on Saturday, May 17, many of us will do an informal AIDS Walk, same route, same commitment, but allowing us to be in church for Solemn Mass on Trinity Sunday. If other walkers want to walk on the big day, Trinity Sunday or not, we’ll organize to do that. You can also help to raise money but not walk either day.
§ Join our team, and walk on Saturday or Sunday. We need 25 walkers by May 1 to qualify for our own Team Meeting Station on Sunday.
§ Raise money from your friends and colleagues. Direct your friends to our website. Collect checks from them. See instructions on the reverse.
§ Contribute to our team – to the team overall or to an individual walker. See instructions on the reverse.
§ Start now. Help us to recruit a lot of walkers. Raise a lot of money. Spread the word. Be a Star Walker: raise $1,000 or more and be eligible for all kinds of perks.

How to Join the Saint Mary’s Team / How to donate to the Saint Mary’s Team
Join our team; raise money from your friends (Saint Marians can donate to the team as a whole if you like – keep reading; we’ll tell you how) and walk with us. Raise money even if you can’t walk. Here’s how to join the team:
Click on Register.
Click on Join a Team. You will get a dialog box that asks you to choose a team.
Scroll down to Saint Mary the Virgin and click on it.
Follow the instructions to join. You will be given your own fundraising page
to which you can direct your supporters – you can customize your webpage.

Tell them you want to join Team #0445.
They will sign you up and send you information.
MaryJane is notified as soon as you join our team, and she will be in touch with you. In May, you can decide if you want to walk on Saturday or Sunday (or both). We will probably arrange a social event around our walk – maybe a Saturday night dinner.
If you can’t walk with us, you can support us. Support the Saint Mary’s Team, not just one individual. Or support an individual. Here’s how:

In person: Give a check made out to AIDS Walk New York (or AWNY) to the person you’re sponsoring, to the team coordinator (MaryJane Boland) or to a priest. Please don’t mail checks to the AIDS Walk; they may not be credited to Saint Mary’s. Ask your friends to give their checks to you!
